Malfunctions, like weak batteries, an interrupted connection cable to the search head, or incorrect tuning, are continuously monitored and indicated by a warning tone. An auto-power-off function turns off the MP20 in case of no detection signals being received for longer than 20 minutes or if the search head has been disconnected. |
|
| The power consumption has been decreased considerably compared
to other pulse induction detectors while the detection capabilities have
been improved. The result is that the MP20 runs for more than 70 hours on
only three "AA" size alkaline batteries. Using NiCd or NiMH rechargeable
batteries is also possible. For a fairly simple operation, the MP20 has only a volume control and a toggle switch. This switch has the functions ON/OFF, TUNE and selecting the search program. |
|
| The telescopic pole is a new and unique development. It
consists of three trapezoidal shaped aluminium profiles and one plastic profile.
During operation the length is adjustable from 740mm (29") to 1350mm (53")
by locking-clips which are very simple to use. For transportation the MP20
can be collapsed to an overall-length of only 560mm (22") without removing
any parts. The foam hand grip can be moved along the upper aluminium profile
to find the most comfortable distance to the arm rest. The latter is padded
and has an integrated detector stand.
The electronics unit either slides on the top of the hand grip or can be clipped on a belt (hipmounting). The total weight is only 1300g (2,86lbs) so that an almost effortless operation is possible. |
|
| Due to its different search programs combined with a high sensitivity and a leight weight and solid mechanical construction, the MP20 is very versatile. For example it can be used for timber industrie, water and utility companies, building contractors, locating munition and bombs, mine detecting and hobby. |
